While travelling in Australia I quickly picked up a pencil to start sketching in my travel journal. It happened to have the quote - "Be silly, be honest, be kind" on ♥
More pleats, I can't get enough of them! The princess pleater is definitely coming out today, these have inspired me to play! From the Chloe SS 2006 collection, just beautiful. X
I have a new guilty pleasure - 'House Gift' on ITV. House Gift sees Laurence LB and other interior designers battle it out to find the ultimate gift for someone's home, each with a budget of £200, £500 or £1000. In today's show Danielle Proud picked some 'Decanter Lights' created by Lee Broom, and I adore them! See some of his work below, and catch House Gift tomorrow at 2pm! X
The most beautiful thing I've seen in a very long time, I want to touch it! I now have the urge to get out the princess pleater and pleat away! Found via Amateur Couture, if anyone knows who this is designed by please comment, I need to see more! X
At the 2009 Hand and Lock awards I was lucky enough to meet Beatrice, I had won third prize in the student category and Beatrice received a very well deserved first. I have been following her work since then and pleased to say she is doing extremely well for herself. She is a super talented young lady, and certainly one to watch! Just this evening one of her creations has been worn by Alesha Dixon at the Brits. Well done Beatrice! Read a great interview with her at Spot On: TEXTILES. X
I'm very lucky to have such thoughtful friends. Katy at Fison-Zair and Heather at Little Red have recently treated to me to some lovely bits, here's a little selection (there was more!). I think the nicest thing about these bits is that they've picked up here and there, when they see something I would love. Lots of little bits to find homes for, particularly in my printer's tray. I've currently got something up my sleeve that I'm making for them, details soon! X
BHLDN (pronounced 'beholden' - 'to keep' in Dutch) is the latest sister to Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters. This wedding line will offer dresses, shoes, hair pieces, lingerie etc. and the website goes live tomorrow! Now I'm certainly not planning my big day anytime soon but some of these fabrics are wonderful, and I couldn't resist a post! X
This piece of furniture is the kind of thing I wouldn't go for usually, but seeing it on Design Sponge's sneak peek post of Jennifer McGargile's home I fell for it. Perhaps it's because I'm a sucker for peonies, they are my absolute favourite. Find it here. X
At the beginning of 2011 Pantone declared honeysuckle the shade of the year - "a perfect post-winter pick-me-up", I agree! X

Today I visited Spinster's Emporium situated just near the train station. Full of lovely vintage fabrics, wallpaper, buttons and trimmings. Perfect for anyone feeling crafty, and they run workshops! In a fantastic studio space with a cafe downstairs (Fentiman's lemonade? Don't mind if I do...). Go see! X
Using my new camera to try and get some pictures of my latest work. The light was bad so had to use the flash not sure this has worked all too well. Still far better quality than what I could achieve on my previous camera. If anyone has any shooting tips for detail design work I'd be happy to hear them!
Embroidery done using my beloved Irish machine, worked on top of a printed fabric, with layers or lace and tulle. X
